Dave Penny Jones joined us here at Betws Primary today for our ICT INSET. All members of staff were able to brush up on ICT skills such as data handling and maths within ICT. Dave was a great host and showed all members of staff many different ways and how to apply ICT effectively across these subject areas.

A visit from the Fire Brigade!

Today, Year 2 enjoyed a visit from the local Fire Brigade.

Pupils learnt all about fire safety and what should be done in an emergency. Later on, they were treated to a tour of the fire engine and were even allowed to use the fire hose, cleaning Mr. Howe’s car in the process! An enjoyable and informative morning for all involved – many thanks to the Fire service for their continuing support.

Clive the Caterpillar Visits Nursery

There was a lot of excitement in nursery this week! We went on a minibeast hunt and found a gorgeous caterpillar. We named him Clive and found out lots of interesting facts about him. To our surprise, while visiting the nursery, he made a cocoon! This was very exciting to watch, and we can’t wait to see if he will come out as a butterfly or a moth.

Betws primary school has now joined up with THE POD!

At our school, our ECO team undertakes some fantastic work to make our school greener and more sustainable. Not only do we have a fantastic ECO TEAM, we have fantastic teachers to deliver a wider curriculum to the pupils of Betws.

Our ECO TEAM meets every week to plan for the future GREEN opportunities. Alot of work is already carried out within our school such as the Gardening club and all the work our eco worriors do already. So we thought of joining THE POD to show case our fantastic work.
